Power & Battery Maintenance

Power & Battery Maintenance

Rescue Rafts are rechargeable and provide approximately 2 days of battery life per full charge. A consistent nightly charging routine is the most important operational habit your team can build around this device.

Daily charging routine

At the end of each shift, collect all Rafts and place them in the 4-slot USB-C charging station. The top LED blinks while the Raft is actively charging and stops blinking when the device is fully charged. Rafts should always return to the dock at the end of a shift. Never leave them in lockers, bags, or on desks.

Charging station setup & placement

Set up the charging station in a secure, centralized location that lifeguards pass through before and after every shift — typically the aquatics office or lifeguard room. It should be easy to access at shift start and end and easy for supervisors to check in the morning. Connect the dock to a reliable power source using the provided USB-C cable.

Checking battery levels before a shift

Log into app.punchrescue.com and go to Devices before each shift. Each Raft displays its battery level in 5% increments. Any Raft showing below 20% should be charged before going into the field. A fully charged Raft shows as Fully Charged in the status column.

Set a pre-shift device check as a standing routine for your aquatics supervisor. Catching a low-battery Raft before a shift starts is far better than discovering it during one.

If a Raft won't charge

  • Confirm the USB-C cable is firmly connected to both the dock and a working power source
  • Try a different slot on the dock — one slot may have a loose connection
  • Inspect the charging contacts on the Raft for debris or corrosion and clean gently with a dry cloth
  • If the Raft still fails to charge after trying a different slot and power source, contact support@punchrescue.com. Hardware replacement is covered by your subscription
