Rescue Cards have one button with three distinct press patterns. What each pattern does — which alert is triggered, who gets notified, and whether 911 is contacted — is configured per organization in the dashboard. There are no universal defaults that apply to every customer.
The three press patterns
How to see your organization's configuration
Go to Settings > Configure > Rescue Actions in the dashboard. The rows labeled Card — Short Press, Card — Triple Press, and Card — Long Press show the emergency category each action is mapped to for your organization.
To see what each category does — who gets notified, whether 911 is triggered, what strobe color activates — go to Settings > Configure > Notify Categories (or Categories if your organization does not use STOPit Notify).
If you do not have access to view configuration settings, ask your organization's administrator.
How the Card confirms an action was received
When a button press is successfully received by the Repeater network, the Card's LED flashes and the device vibrates. The LED color that flashes corresponds to the emergency category that action is mapped to. Since categories and their colors are configured per organization, the color you see will depend on your setup.
The one consistent behavior across all deployments: 5 rapid Blue blinks when the device powers on successfully after a battery swap.
If a button press does not produce the expected response
First confirm what the press pattern is configured to do for your organization under Settings > Configure > Rescue Actions. If the mapping looks correct but the response is unexpected, confirm the Card is online in the dashboard and that the nearest Repeater is also online. See Troubleshooting Your Rescue Cards if the issue continues.
