Verify the CR2032 batteries are installed correctly — positive side up — and are not depleted. A rapid Blue 5-blink on the LED confirms a successful power-up. If the Card powers on but does not appear, confirm it is within range of at least one Repeater and try your test press pattern (1 press, 3 presses, or 1 long press depending on how your organization set up pattern configurations) to generate a signal.
The Card may be out of range of a Repeater. Move to a different area and try again. If the issue persists in multiple locations, contact support@punchrescue.com.
Resolve immediately from the Rescue Mobile app or app.punchrescue.com. For non-K-12 organizations, act within the 30-second confirmation window to cancel 911 dispatch — tap Cancel in the app or dashboard right away.
Most likely causes: the user does not have the Responder role assigned, or they have not installed and enabled notifications for the Punch Rescue Mobile app. Go to Users in the dashboard and confirm their role. Confirm the Rescue app is installed on their phone and notifications are enabled in iPhone Settings > Notifications > Punch Rescue.
The emergency check status on the Devices page reflects whether the Card's last signal test was received successfully by the network. A Fail status means the Card's last test press did not register. The most common causes: the Card is out of range of a Repeater, the battery is low, or the Card was not pressed during a recent test period. Have the staff member perform a daily test in an area with good Repeater coverage. If the status continues to show Fail after a fresh test, contact support@punchrescue.com.
Open the rear cover and insert two fresh CR2032 batteries. Check the battery contacts for corrosion. If the Card shows no signs of life with fresh batteries, contact support@punchrescue.com. Replacement is covered by your subscription.
